July's Birthstone: Learn About The Ruby

July’s birthstone ruby is one of the most precious stones of the gemstone family with its vibrant red colour.

The word ruby comes from the Latin word ‘rubens’, which means red. Ruby is said to be associated with love, wealth, and peace. In ancient times, people believed it to be a protection against harm.

Fine ruby glows with intense red in sunlight thanks to red fluorescence, which intensifies its red colour.
